Many resident sentenced for selling meth

A Many man has been sentenced to 173 months in prison for meth sales.

A 28-year-old Many man has been sentenced to more than 14 years in prison for selling methamphetamine, authorities reported.

Jamal Holland was sentenced to 173 months by U.S. District Court Judge S. Maurice Hicks Jr., according to U.S. Attorney Stephanie A. Finley.

Holland was also sentenced to three years of supervised release.

Evidence presented at Holland's guilty plea shows, law enforcement conducted controlled purchases of methamphetamine from Holland on Sept. 18, 2013, and Oct. 3, 2013, according to a news release. Holland was recorded selling a total of 39 grams of methamphetamine.

The investigation of Holland was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Sabine Parish Sheriff's Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandon B. Brown prosecuted the case.
