Pineville man dies after home invasion

A Pineville man is dead after a home invasion on Sanders Street early Thursday morning, according to police.

The Pineville Police Department got a call at 1:07 a.m. about a shooting at 305-C Sanders St. One of the residents said "several black males forced their way into the apartment and began to ransack the apartment," reads the release.

One resident, 26-year-old Montreal Jones, was shot and was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. The department announced just before 2 p.m. that Jones had died.

No arrests have been made, and an investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call the department at 318-442-6603.
