Megan Nicole Wiggins

Megan Nicole Wiggins, 31, of the 300 block of McNary Cutoff Road in Glenmora, was arrested on Nov. 25 and was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on a charge of theft between $5,000 and $25,000, according to the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office.

A complaint had been made to the office on Nov. 19 from the 500 block of Bethel Road. The complainant said she was the owner of the residence, but that it was occupied by her grandson, who was in jail. She said that Wiggins, her grandson's ex-girlfriend, had been staying at the home since her grandson had been in jail, according to the release.

But Wiggins recently had been told to move out. "After she left, the complainant discovered a large amount of items that belonged to her and the grandson to be missing from the residence, and she believed Wiggins had taken them or allowed others to take them," reads the release.

After detectives took over the case, they discovered that Wiggins "was responsible for the large amount of items missing from the residence," it reads. A warrant for her arrest was issued on Nov. 24.

She later was released on a $2,500 bond. An investigation is continuing, and more arrests may be made, according to the release.
