Your Mail 11-5: Educational failure

Louisiana

If there is anything worthwhile to come out of the current political scene in our country, it should be a universal recognition that our public educational system is, for the most part, completely derelict.

Letters to the editor

When there are a majority of millennials who do not know anything about the history of the United States — how and why it was established, who the founding fathers were, the sacrifices made by generations of Americans to build this country from a wilderness, the real causes of our Civil War, who we fought in two World Wars, and just as importantly, the vast differences of philosophy between the two major political parties — how can they exhibit any semblance of thoughtful intelligence when it comes to voting ? This ignorance has been sought, and the results applauded, by the corrupt Democratic Party.

Their efforts to introduce such deteriorative programs such as Common Core are part and parcel of their long-range plans to dominate American society. Intelligent , thoughtful, and critically-thinking individuals are the bane of such folk as the Clintons.

When young people choose electronic devices over learning, when a government check is more valued than honest work, when having a knowledge of how our economy works is less important than how to apply for food stamps, when having babies in order to obtain “free” things is considered okay, our country suffers. When young people do not take full advantage of every educational opportunity that exists, they are not only setting the stage for a poor existence, but they are failing their forebears and their country . America deserves better citizens than are currently being produced, and the only way to improve this situation is to return control of our public schools to the individual states and their communities. The Democratic Party will never allow this to happen. If these people are allowed continued control of our government, things will get much worse.
