A 17-year-old boy and his father were charged after the son allegedly fired three rounds into a home with two adults and children inside.

Nobody was injured in the shooting early Feb. 11, says the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office. Deputies responded to the call from the 100 block of Evangeline Drive near Natchitoches, learning that the complainant "had been involved in a prior relationship" with the father, 44-year-old Jamie Lynn Desadier, reads a release.

The complainant told deputies that Desadier's son, Owen Cade Scallion, came to the home just before 3 a.m. to retrieve some personal items. When the complainant asked Scallion to leave, he started to comply but "loosened the light bulb under the carport, firing three rounds through the door into the residence with the bullets lodging in the wall," it reads.

Scallion then fled in a silver 2000 Nissan Xterra with Desadier. The car soon was spotted on Washington Street in Natchitoches, and deputies stopped it on Lakeshore Drive.

As deputies were talking to Scallion, he got back in the car and sped off. Deputies chased him to Robbins Drive, where he jumped out, dropped and picked up a handgun and ran into some nearby woods.

Desadier was taken into custody. A search of the area and Washington Street home failed to find him.

A tip early Feb. 13 led deputies and Natchitoches SWAT members of a home in the 200 block of Albert Conley Road in Golddonna. Scallion ran out the back door when they arrived, but he surrendered about 30 minutes later, reads the release.

Both were booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center after their captures.

Scallion, of the Conley Road address, was charged with four counts of attempted second-degree murder, one count of resisting an officer and one count of aggravated assault. Bond was set at $80,500.

Desadier, of the 1400 block of Washington Street, was charged with accessory after the fact to attempted second-degree murder and a probation violation. Bond was set at $15,000, but there is a probation hold on him.

According to Chief of Investigations Greg Dunn, detectives still have been gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses for the case. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Victor Kay at 318-357-7830.
